Power structures can influence our development and well-being. For example,

Power structures that can be problematic:

  • religous environments

  • cults

  • personality disordered parents, siblings, family, partner

  • MLM (multi-level marketing) jobs

  • relationships

  • work enviornments

It can look like:

  • your independence threatens someone’s feelings or the balance

  • you are able to read the emotional temperature of a room

  • over-function or take responsibility for other’s feelings or experiences

  • your boundaries are ignored

It can feel like:

  • deep exhaustion

  • anxiety

  • depression

  • rarely able to feel safe, calm, at peace

  • self-doubt

  • perfectionistic tendencies

  • feeling crazy

  • intense self-hatred

  • guilt/shame cycle

  • living out of fear

  • consistent frustration

  • feeling purposeless

Let’s step toward wholehearted living, shall we?

It feels like:

  • knowing the sound of your own voice

  • understanding boundary setting (and using them)

  • deep self-care, rest, renewal

  • ability to turn off work
